By a very slim chance I was able to take a yoga class provided in replacement for PE my first year of high school. I had only seen petite ladies dressed in white, in feminie product commercials do this 'stretchy stuff'. So I thought, hey, easy A. Turns out it was beyond what I interpreted. WAY MORE. Physical practice was just the tip of the iceberg and I was already struggling. I'm thankful yoga came in at such a vital time in my life to teach me how to manage/cope better with the world around me.
ULP serves not just momentarily. The efforts are invested in our youth to create a space that teaches how to best care for self and others. These young individuals can carry the tools they accumulate throughout their lives. ULP is a legacy; planting the seeds for a garden we may never see bloom.
I also currently work with the elderly, or volunteer with the SPCA .When I'm relaxing I'm with my dog, hiking, being crafty, cooking, or riding my bike.
My Mantra: "To love is a radical act." I tell myself this constantly. It is easy to fall into nonloving actions, words, and thoughts. For love I want to be extremely progressive- a radical for love.
