Heather Keenan - ULP Teacher &
Community Outreach Coordinator

I went to my first yoga class about a year after having my son, trying to add some variety to my workout routine. I thought it was weird but after being sore the next day, it was enough to keep me interested. The more I learn about yoga, the more I love it. Its principles go hand in hand with my faith and how I've been raised. My husband teases me because I claim yoga is the answer to everything-physically and mentally. Yoga keeps me centered and strong from the inside out.

I took a trauma sensitive yoga training as part of my 200-hr certification and was immediately drawn to it. I feel yoga is such a powerful tool for healing but is not a well known tool. I came back from my training wanting to take yoga to those who need it most, yet don't have access to it. I had no idea where to start, until I found ULP. I was so excited that Hannah had already put this in place, especially with an emphasis on children and teens. I am so excited to be a part of helping people learn to connect with themselves, and hopefully give them some tools to get through the craziness of life.

When I'm not teaching yoga, you can usually find me shuttling my kids around or showing houses. But for fun, I love to spend my free time with my husband and two kids. My favorite place is Lake Tahoe, but I also love to travel to new places and do anything outside! I enjoy skiing, hiking, tennis, playing the piano or just sitting down to dinner together as a family.

My Mantra: Treat others how you'd like to be treated.
Also, "just breathe."
