Justin Hesselbart - Teacher
"I started doing yoga on my own at home when I was 18. I did it as a way to exercise my body and mind together. It made me feel good so I kept doing it. It took me a couple of years before I actually went to a studio. Ever since then I have just been practicing and growing my practice. I’ve never stopped. After several years of wrestling with the idea of becoming a teacher I finally did in 2015 and now I make a living sharing my passion with others so that they can discover the benefits that I have found.
I sought out Urban Lotus Project after moving to Reno and teaching in studios and gyms because I have always felt yoga can help everyone and anyone but not everyone has access to it. I feel that ULP is doing an excellent job bringing yoga into communities that otherwise don’t have access, in a way that makes people feel comfortable giving it a try.
When I’m not doing or teaching yoga I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, friends and my family, doing things outdoors or exploring, through travel, beautiful places, people and culture.
My Mantra: Treat others and yourself well, find what makes you happy and pursue it.
