Justine Nelson - ULP Teacher

I was first introduced to meditation through my parents at age thirteen when they taught me Transcendental Meditation (TM) and gave me my own Mantra. This is when my life transformed! I learned the power to turning inwards for guidance and rest and learned that I have control over my mind and body. From then on meditation has become an integral part of my self-care rituals and theme of my studies.

After I finished my MS in Mind-Body Medicine and got certified in Integrative Wellness Coaching, I realized that teaching mindfulness is the simplest and easiest way to show people how to get in touch with their mind and body and develop a non-judgmental, compassionate approach to themselves and others.

Practicing mindfulness has been shown to have a myriad of benefits that can help anyone at any age. My mission now is to help educate people on mindfulness and how they can implement it into their daily lives.

I was drawn to ULP because I think they serve a part of the population that might not have access to mindfulness and would be greatly benefited from it. So I am very excited for the opportunity to help show mindfulness to those who deserve a chance to re-learn how to be in touch with the mind and body and build a new sense of compassion for themselves and others.

My days are very full of amazing and gratifying work! I recently started my own Integrative Wellness and Mindfulness Coaching business and have my own clients. I also teach mindfulness at the Tahoe Forest Center of Health in Truckee, CA and the Tahoe Perfect Workout in Incline Village, NV.

I am very blessed to live in the Lake Tahoe area, so I do my best to spend time in nature either taking hikes, paddle boarding on the lake, or skiing and snowshoeing in the winter!

My Mantra:
The only thing permanent is change.
