Yoga was always a part of my life, even though I didn't know it. My mom was a yogi since her teens and took me a few times when I was younger. It wasn't until I was 27 that I went to my first yoga class because I chose to. I had bought a groupon (frugality was key) and after the first couple classes I was hooked. It was the physical aspect my body craved, having been a gymnast for years, and it was the mental aspect I wasn't expecting but absolutely loved. I was in a very transitional time in my life and yoga filled a void. That void soon turned into an overflowing love for the practice and the community.
During my first teacher training I met Hannah and Andrea. Instantly I knew these girls were special. Hannah had the vision of bringing yoga to the underserved youth of Reno and I was in awe of her vision. Knowing what yoga had provided me in my own life, I felt the need, like most yoga teachers, to share the practice with anyone and everyone. It just so happened that ULP needed to get the word out about all the amazingness going on and I had some design skills share. It seemed like the perfect marriage of my own passions and service to those in my rad community.
When I'm not practicing or teaching, you can find me smiling, laughing and enjoying every moment to its fullest!
My Mantra: You are perfect, whole and complete- just the way you are!
Sohum Shivoham: I am that. I am the very form of the unbounded consciousness.
I am eternal. I am pure. I am bliss. I am free.
